On loan Don Bruce Anderson was match winner at Indodrill Stadium

Bruce Anderson was laughing after getting one over on his flat mate Sam Roscoe on Saturday. The two Aberdeen players came up against each other when Dunfermline Athletic met Alloa Athletic. The twenty year olds came through the youth system together at the Dons and played together earlier this season in the Irn Bru Cup for Aberdeen U20s.

Sam Roscoe went out on loan to Alloa at the end of August and has played against Dunfermline in every league game this season. The good pals became opponents on Saturday with central defender Sam having to mark his team mate. Bruce enjoyed winding up Sam ahead of the game and it was Bruce who was happier at the end of it. He revealed:-

”We had a bit of banter before it and I phoned him on Friday night. As soon as you get on the park you don`t really take notice, I am there to be as deadly as I can no matter who I am playing against. I didn’t really focus on that but I am sure that we will have a bit of banter afterwards. I enjoyed coming out on top.

”He is my flatmate in Aberdeen, we get on well and I think he is a good player. Here`s hoping we can go back to Aberdeen and prove ourselves.”

His move to Dunfermline was with the intention of making Bruce a better player and he feels that it has been the correct one for him:-

”I was desperate to play because my game time was limited at Aberdeen. I feel that I should be playing, I am ready to play week in week out so I think this us just the ideal move for me and I am enjoying every minute.

Bruce is making his mark at Dunfermline having scored four goals in his six Pars appearances.

”I am just trying to be as deadly as I can to be honest, hopefully I can keep scoring goals until the end of the season and see where that takes me.”

Recent results have seen Dunfermline move into the play off places in the Championship and Bruce feels that is merited:-

”We are building confidence every week and we are looking forward to next week now. That game can`t come quick enough really. There is such a good atmosphere in the dressing room just now, hopefully we can kick on now.”

Success has been built on six shut outs in the last seven games and for a striker it is always good news when the defence is achieving clean sheets but does come with its own challenges:-

”We have been working hard on the training ground, it adds a bit of pressure but that is something that I can thrive on. It is nice knowing that if you score it is possibly the one that is going to win us the match.”

So how far does the Banff born striker think that this can take Dunfermline?

”I am confident that we can win every game. When I came here I could not believe where we were in the league. Ever since day one the training has been of a high standard.

”Every week we are going out to win and I think that is down to the manager putting a believe into us. We believe that we are going to win every game, that is the big thing.”
