Preview Raith Rovers
Saturday, 19th Jan 2019William Hill Scottish Cup: (away) v Raith Rovers, Saturday 19th January 2019, kick off 3.00pm at Starks Park
Following the Rovers relegation to League One it is two years such since the Pars visited Starks Park so the pairing in the William Hill Scottish Cup is a welcome one and likely to be popular with both sets of fans. With Rovers good league form and the Pars not performing as they would like to be, the lower league club with home advantage will fancy their chances in this cup derby.
It is 33 years since these Fife rivals have met in the Scottish Cup and the record reveals three Pars wins to Rovers two.

Last Meeting at Starks Park
Monday 2nd January 2017, Championship
Raith Rovers 0 Dunfermline 2
For what was the first New Year Derby against Raith Rovers at Starks Park for six years, the Pars took a support of just under 3000. They were celebrating an early success after Nicky CLARK headed the home an eleventh minute opener.
The Pars striker sped in from nowhere to head a Kallum Higginbotham cross downwards and into the Rovers net. The home fans called it schoolboy defending and Kevin McHattie complained bitterly as he was left floored in the centre of the penalty box but in truth it was a great attacking run by the Pars player. 0-1
A 78th minute Pars corner on the right then led to a second goal for Athletic. Higginbotham’s first delivery was defended out as far as McMullan who immediately laced it back out for Higginbotham to thrash across the Raith box. Lee ASHCROFT got the connection that sent the ball into the net right at the base of the left upright. Cue great celebrations, 0-2
