Preview Falkirk
Saturday, 29th Dec 2018Ladbrokes Championship: (away) Saturday 29th December 2018, kick off 3.00pm at The Falkirk Stadium.
Matches against Falkirk are never anything less than meaningful and this one certainly is all of that. Dunfermline enjoyed a comfortable 2-0 at The Falkirk Stadium in October but the return fixture at East End Park last month proved to be much less successful for the Pars. Despite dominating the game, Dunfermline couldn’t get that all important goal and Falkirk scored with virtually their only chance of the match to take all three points.
Neither club has made much headway since, and with both clubs wanting to end the year on a high against their local rivals, it should be the usual interesting tussle.

Allan Johnston gave a vote of confidence to the side that defeated Partick Thistle the previous week. The opening goal that was well deserved duly came five minutes from the interval. A Louis Longridge cross was well met by Andy RYAN at the near post and his well executed header beat Fasan. 0-1
Despite only one goal up, Dunfermline were in total command. It was not totally tied up until former Falkirk player Myles Hippolyte came on with four minutes remaining.
Myles was denied by the crossbar as he met Malaury Martin’s ball from the resultant corner, another great effort. Then in 90th minute the name of HIPPOLYTE was on the scoresheet. The chance was made by Faissal El Bakhtaoui who battled his way into the Falkirk box to provide the cutback. 0-2
Total domination from start to finish and by the end the Falkirk fans had switched from booing their former players to their current ones.

League Form
Dunfermline have taken 20 points from the 18 matches that make up the first half of the Championship season. Their away form has been better than their home form, twelve points away and eight at home.
Falkirk’s narrow defeat at Tannadice on Saturday was their first league defeat in six matches but they are still in search of their first home league win of the season. One of the major reasons for that is their record of scoring just four times in their nine league games at The Falkirk Stadium.
