FPA back the current squad
Thursday, 8th Nov 2018Former Players help out current first team
The FPA has been on the go now for around ten years. It was formed to enable former players to regain and maintain contact with each other. Its other purpose is to put something back into the Club, which they all enjoyed playing for.
Over the years the FPA has sponsored and made donations to DAFC. This has taken many forms, be it sponsorship for the Hall of Fame, contributing to the purchase of items such as Mo`s van and the players fridge. We have donated funds for the benefit of the youth players and, working with Mo Hutton to help obtain training gear for the players.
We have arranged fund raising events such as Cabaret Evenings and Whisky Tastings. For a number of years we have organised and operated the Guest of Honour Scheme, which allows former players to enjoy matchday hospitality, courtesy of a sponsor.
This scheme also benefits the Club in providing the guest for Jim Leishman to interview in the Purvis Suite, which is a popular part of the hospitality package. It also provides the subjects for Christine and Craig’s excellent interviews which are so popular for the Heritage Trust.
The FPA`s latest donation allowed the Club to purchase additional training and support gear for the players.
