Lewis Crosbie signs for Dunfermline
Sunday, 27th May 2018Lewis Crosbie is one of six players signed this week from Fife Elite
The seventeen year old striker from Glenrothes is a pupil at Auchmuty High School. Lewis Crosbie started off at Thornton Locos, played five years at AM soccer in Cupar before joining Fife Elite. He was attached to Raith Rovers.
Lewis rates his greatest influence as John Potter:-
“He pushed us a lot in a really positive way. He made us work harder than we were doing. We did not realise at that point just how much work it was going to take. He has been good and the transition to come in to professional football has been a lot easier through the help of Bill Hendry and Potts.
“All the boys here at this club have been so inviting as well. We have been in training here during most holidays although I was playing with Raith this season.
“We won the Development League East with them, that was a really good experience. It was a step up again from Fife Elite to under 20s.
“I scored some goals for Raith and that really builds your confidence. The boys there were welcoming and made you feel part of the team.”
Lewis played alongside Lewis McCann who has also signed professional with Dunfermline. “Throughout the season it was Lewis up striker and me off him playing the number ten role. The partnership developed from there. We worked well together getting goals throughout the season. If he got a goal I got an assist.”
With six joining from Fife Elite the boys know each other well already. Lewis said that they are all really excited to get started during seeing what it is like, “it is going to be a shock to the system!”
