DAFC sign up Lewis McCann
Sunday, 27th May 2018Six foot two striker could be a big asset in future
Sixteen year old striker Lewis McCann comes from Edinburgh and is a pupil at Royal High School. He joins Dunfermline on a two year deal despite having been attached to Raith Rovers while at Fife Elite.
Lewis was ten years at Hutchieson Vale before joining Hearts for a year and then moving on to Fife Elite for two seasons. He played striker at Hutchy, was a left midfielder at Hearts and first year with Fife Elite before been deployed at striker again.
At six foot two Lewis rates his greatest strength as his finishing. He is quick, best on his right foot and no surprise, he is good in the air.
Craig Easton was his coach at Raith where he played on a Tuesday or Wednesday. At Fife Elite the games were on a Sunday and his coaches there were Grant Petrie and Robert O’Neill. He has also had experience at Dunfermline:-
“John Potter invited us in to train with the first team once and other times with him with Fife Elite.”
Lewis could have pursued an academic path for his career but he prefers sport and for now that is the direction he is going to take. He signed off saying:-
“I will do everything I can to make it work out.”
