Craigen claims concentrate on ourselves
Friday, 23rd Feb 2018“I have been enjoying training with Tom and James. There was lots of energy to win the ball back and when breaking as well.”
James Craigen is not fussed about playing nice football, three points on Saturday is the priority and it won’t matter how they are won.
The 26 year old who joined Dunfermline Athletic in January is happy with the way he has settled in and has started the last twice.
“It is nice to be playing, nice to be starting and playing the full game. You have to make sure that you stay in the team. You stay in the team by playing well so fingers cross I keep playing well and stay in the team.”
The midfielder who previously played with Falkirk and Raith Rovers feels that the team should have got more from the games than they have done based on performances.
“We conceded a late goal against Morton. Against Livingston I thought that we were the better team, we created chances but just didn’t stick the ball away. Two points dropped there although Livingston will see it as one point gained especially when they went down to ten men for the last twenty minutes.”
James was part of a new look midfield in the 0-0 draw at the Tony Macaroni Arena but he felt that the three including him, James Vincent and Tom Beadling, worked well:-
“I have been enjoying training with Tom and James. There was lots of energy to win the ball back and when breaking as well.”
The match at Palmerston Park will need to see Dunfermline deal with Queens danger man, Stephen Dobbie. The 35 year old striker scored a hat trick at East End Park back in December and stopping him would create a great chance of winning claimed James:-
“He has shown what he can do it numerous games. He has great feet and can finish but we are going to go down there and concentrate on ourselves. He is only one man in their team and we have good players in this squad.
“I know that we can go down there and get the three points from a big game. It is so tight in and around the play offs but we can get the win and build on it.”
The time during the enforced break has been used wisely and James is looking forward to the final third of the league campaign.
“If we can string two wins together while teams take points off each other there is a long way to go still. There is lots to play for and three points are the main thing.”
