Pars manager Allan Johnston gave his post match thoughts to the media.-
“Maybe why Livingston are ahead of us in the table is because of the way defended towards the end. They were throwing bodies in front, they got the clean sheet despite us putting a lot of pressure on them.
“I think it is two points dropped for us but there were a lot of encouraging performances there today. I thought James Vincent was excellent in the middle of the park, he showed his quality. There was a lot of good play out there considering it was a bit of a battle as well.
“We had to do the ugly side of the game, it wasn’t always pretty because when you come here you know that you are going to be in a bit of a fight as well.”
Asked about Andy Ryan who was very involved in the battle, AJ said that he did not feel that the boy (Jordan Thompson) meant it.
“It was a really poorly timed challenge, he is lucky that he has not done anything serious. It was clearly a red card when you see it again on the video. He is fine, I think he read it a bit and his leg came off the ground or else it could have been a really bad one.
“I don’t think it was malicious in the first place. It was a physical game but I don’t think there were any really bad challenges. It was maybe just ill timed.
“We are disappointed not to get the three points, we know that is a hard place to come but when you see how far Livingston are ahead of us, we take encouragement from that when you see the performance that we put in today and the quality of players we have got that we have a real chance of catching them if we can put a run of results together.
“We said to the boys that from the off it was going to be a hard game. Livingston are right in your face, they have a style of play that suits them and cause you a lot of problems at setpieces with long throws, corners and free kicks. I thought we handled that well and were really well organised.
“In the second half there was a bit more space. As the game went on in time it started to open up a bit and our good players got on the ball.”
