Craigen Signs
Friday, 19th Jan 2018Dunfermline Athletic are pleased to announce the signing of midfielder, James Craigen on a deal until the end of the current 2017/2018 season.
Born in Preston, Craigen started his career with Preston North End before heading north to study at Edinburgh University. Whilst studying he played for the University football team catching the eye of Partick Thistle who signed the midfielder in 2012.
Leaving the jags in 2015, James signed for Raith Rovers before joining Falkirk in 2016. He went on to make 51 appearances during 18 months at The Bairns, scoring seven times.
Manager, Allan Johnston said “James is a Player I have admired since he was at Partick Thistle in the Premier League. I had watched him in the play offs last season, when he scored in both legs against Dundee United and I had enquired about him then but he had extended his contract with Falkirk. When I became aware that he had asked to move on from Falkirk on Wednesday I had to move quickly to get him as other clubs were interested.
The good thing is that James wanted to come to East End Park. He is a creative midfielder who can play wide and off the strikers, and give us another dimension to the squad.”
Everyone at Dunfermline Athletic welcomes James to East End Park.
