DAFC Fitness Suite Officially Opens
Monday, 22nd Jan 2018The new Fitness Suite at East End Park was recently officially opened, although the playing squad have been using the facility since October.
Sited in the south east corner of the stadium, the new facility boasts a fully equipped state of the art strength & conditioning gym, a spin studio with 16 spin bikes as well as changing room facilities including an accessible changing area. The construction work also included resurfacing the car park with designated marked spaces. The main gymnasium also includes two large picture windows overlooking the playing surface, providing a welcome psychological incentive for recuperating players.
Representatives from the main contractor, Hatrick Bruce, which is part of the Purvis Group (including Bob Purvis, Jim Thomson and Iain Hall) are seen with DAFC Chairman, Ross McArthur outside the entrance.
DAFC Chairman, Ross McArthur had invited all of the very many people who contributed to the project, along to the opening to thank them, or their businesses, personally. Ross also emphasised that the facility was an investment in the future of our club and further professionalises what DAFC are trying to do. Everyone then had time to wander around the new facility to see it for themselves.
Manager, Allan Johnston then thanked everyone on behalf of the management team and playing squad and highlighted it was another sign of the progress the club is making, as very few other Scottish clubs have a facility like it. Allan also explained the benefits particularly for our younger first team players and FEFA players who also use the fitness suite.
