Fraser pushing for place

Fraser Aird freely admits that he doesn`t care in which position he starts as long as he is on the park for the kick off. He has now made six starts for Dunfermline, two off the bench and only once - at Inverness - has he played in a losing team.
"I haven`t played as much as I wanted to but on Tuesday Higgy was suspended and I felt I came in and did alright. I contributed quite well and got a little bit of luck with the first goal.
"I thought we should probably have won the game, we created enough chances to win it. You know what this league is like, it is tough. If you are not on it every week then you have a chance of getting beat or dropping points.
"We have a game on Saturday to prove ourselves again and hopefully we can go and get three points at home."
The 22 year old has not enjoyed watching from the sidelines until he gets his chance:-
"Everyone trains every week to hopefully play on a Saturday. When you are not getting your chance it is tough. I think the gaffer will want to freshen it up and change it because we have not been as consistent as we were at the start of the season.
"There are boys on the bench who are dying to get their chance and when they do, to take it. I just need to keep training away and hope to get another chance to play at the weekend and put in another good performance to keep myself in the team."
Fraser`s only Pars goal was a real cracker against Livingston in mid October. He reminded everyone:-
"It was my first league start since the opening day at Livingston so I couldn`t have asked for a better way to come in and impact the performance - scoring a goal, setting up Higgy`s one and going on to win.
"At the end of the day it is all about winning the game. I was lucky enough to score my first goal for the club. Hopefully I can push on from there and get a few more for the rest of the season."
Fraser who has made two appearances for Canada this season is keen to cement himself into the team by scoring a few goals for Dunfermline.
"I will train hard and if I get my chance on Saturday and if I get my chance hopefully I can take it. I don`t mind if it is left or right side. Both sides are totally different.
"If I am playing on the right there is a chance to get the ball at my feet and cross the ball a lot more.
"If I am on the left I can come in on my right and have shots. To be fair as long as I am on the park and in the starting eleven I am happy."
