Manager Allan Johnston felt that Queens Park frustrated his Dunfermline team especially on the first half. He told the media:-
"They are nervy games sometimes when you are expected to come to places like this and win. It is not quite as easy as that.
"Second half we upped the tempo a wee bit, we mixed our game up, we started putting more crosses in the box and we looked by far the bigger threat.
"Obviously we got the goal from a great ball in from Joe Cardle and Nicky Clark finished it with a good header. That was more like us.
"We got the second goal and it looked as though we were going to go on and win quite comfortably. Queens Park got the goal back on us from a free kick when we should probably not have given away a cheap free kick in the first place.
"I think it hit one of our boys, it was a really good delivery. Then we got a bit slack for five or ten minutes. Queens Park hit the bar and they had another chance from a slack pass and managed to get a shot away.
"We then got our composure back and went on to score a couple more goals and could probably have scored a few more. Yes we made it a bit difficult for ourselves but the main thing is coming to these grounds and winning. We are happy enough."
What was said at half time when Dunfermline went in at 0-0?
"It was important not to get nervy, that is difficult when you are expected to win. They still have to keep their composure, keep doing the right things, keep passing the ball.
"We just had to up the tempo a wee bit. Once we did that I think we looked a lot better and you could see that the quality shone through in the end."
Queens Park manager Gus MacPherson thought that his players were excellent.
"They had to deal with a lot of direct stuff and defended well. The key moment for me was when we had a one on one at 2-1 and we didn`t work the goalkeeper. There is disappointment there when there is an opportunity to really get back into the game and we do not capitalise on it.
"There wasn`t a lot of play going through us, it was just dealing with longer straight balls, trying to turn us. We dealt with it for long periods pretty comfortably and two of the goals came from distance.
"There is a lot to be pleased about, they will receive a lot of plaudits but we are still angry because we did not capitalise on our chances."
