The Latvians had taken the lead in the sixth minute of the eight minutes of time added on at the end of the first half. A floodlight failure had caused a stoppage in 23rd minute and the first half had been pretty one sided with Lewis Morgan, Scott Wright and Chris Cadden all providing several good deliveries into the visitors box. Oliver McBurnie had also shown a desire to be direct and he saw efforts blocked by the opposing defence.
The Latvian goal came after Viktors Litvinskis and Raivis Jurkovskis broke down the right. When the ball was played into the box the Latvia hit the crossbar with an effort but Roberts ULDRIKIS was well placed to stick the ball into the left side of the Scotland net. 0-1
Latvia were reduced to ten men at the midpoint of the second half when Ingars Stuglis went completely through Chris Cadden. Sub Ryan Hardie injected urgency and was not shy to shoot.
It looked as though Scotland were going to go down to an extremely disappointing defeat until the Danish referee generously awarded the Scots a penalty in the third minute of added time. HARDIE stepped up and scored but too late to gain anymore than one point.
