Saturday`s Remembrance Match
Thursday, 2nd Nov 2017This coming Saturday (4 November) Dunfermline Athletic travel to Falkirk in the Ladbrokes Championship. This game has been named both club`s official ‘Remembrance Day Match.’
Throughout the afternoon players, fans and directors will pay their respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Veterans and cadets will be in attendance and gain free entry and refreshments. This includes the specially invited veterans who currently reside in William Simpson Care Home, Stirling.
Fans are advised that a collection will take place outside the ground for both Legion Scotland and Poppy Scotland, while Pipes and Drums of 154 (Scottish) Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps will provide pre-match entertainment.
In the immediate build-up to kick off Falkirk FC Chairman, Margaret Lang and Dunfermline Athletic FC Chairman Ross McArthur will be joined by representatives of Legion Scotland, Poppy Scotland and Standard Bearers for a wreath laying ceremony before a minute of silence is held. Both clubs will wear specially branded poppy strips as a tribute to those fallen.
The Matchday Programme will feature articles of our work with Legion Scotland as well as a piece on McCrae’s Batallion.
