"We had a big backing today so we are disappointed, it is going to a long journey back."

Dunfermline Athletic manager Allan Johnston felt that his side`s inability to deal with the winding conditions cost them the match. He told the media post match:-

"They were probably the better team on the first half, won more second balls and got a wee bit of luck with the goal. It took a deflection off Lee Ashcroft and goes through to the striker in the box. We had three defenders against one but they got a wee bit of luck there.

"In the second half we pushed to try and get the goal but we still have to show more quality in the final third. I didn`t think that there was enough from the attacking players we had on show. We should be creating more chances, we have to work the keeper more.

"Most of the second half I thought we were playing in their half and we`re going to be liable to the counterattack with pushing so many people forward. The final pass wasn`t there today. We got in really good positions but you need to pick somebody out when you get there.

"You have to work the keeper, get shots on goal and it is maybe something that we have not done enough of in recent games.

"Callum Smith had a great chance and sometimes when it is not a classic game you have to take your chances. Overall I think that everybody could do more. Right through the whole team they are better than that. We never passed the ball as quick as we passed it last week although the pitch wasn`t great, it was a bit sticky but it is the same for both teams.

"There are no easy games in this league. Obviously Inverness have a lot of top players but still, coming to places like this we expect to come and win with the form and players we have got. We had a big backing today so we are disappointed, it is going to a long journey back.

"We tried to change it a bit bringing on Joe Cardle and Declan McManus just to try and find something to give us a spark. We got into good positions we just needed that end product. Joe came on and got a shot away, he gives you that spark but has probably not had a lot of game time to get up to match speed."

The home fans booed the referee off at half time but there were five yellow cards shown to Pars players - Morris (32), Splaine (45), Williamson (51), Clark (53), Higginbotham (65). Allan does not like criticising referees but

"He never gave us anything that game to be honest with you. It seemed every decision that was contentious in any way went to Inverness. I felt it looked totally one sided but I suppose sometimes you look at it with your Dunfermline glasses on."

Another away game next Saturday will see the Pars travel to play the Bairns at The Falkirk Stadium, AJ closed:-

"Every game is a tough game no matter who you are playing. It is a derby so we shouldn`t need to get the boys lifted for that one, it is one that we want to go and win. We had a few players missing for the game in the Irn Bru Cup and it is one that we want to make sure that we react to in the right way. We have to make sure that we play at our very best to get a result and get us back on track."
