The Dunfermline Athletic captain has been called up by Northern Ireland World Cup squad for the upcoming games against Germany and Norway. Callum has been involved with previous Northern Ireland squads but has not yet won his first cap. He was on the bench for the World Cup qualifies against the Czech Republic and Germany last year.
Although born in England, Morris has Irish ancestry through both his parents, his mother`s family originating from Waterford and his father`s from Belfast. He initially chose to represent the Republic of Ireland, and played for their under 19 and under 21 teams before deciding to switch his allegiance to Northern Ireland.
Callum started his career off as a youth at Newcastle United but despite spending time at both Dundee United and Aberdeen, 98 of his 144 senior appearances have been as a Dunfermline player.
Callum`s call up brings the total number of Dunfermline player on international duty this coming week to five. Ryan Williamson is in the Scotland under 21 squad, Callum Smith and Stuart Morrison are in the Under 19 squad and Fraser Aird has been called up to the Canada squad for their friendly v El Salvador in Houston, Texas.
