Manager Allan Johnston felt that his side threw away the three points that they were heading for at half time:-
"We were totally on command at 2-0, it looked as though we`d go on and score three or four. They didn`t look a threat but to fair Morton came out of the traps really quick and put us under pressure at the start of the game.
"Then I thought we got in the game and controlled it. We scored two goals and looked as though we were going to score a couple more then second half we made a big mistake. It was a poor pass back and that obviously gave Morton a massive lift.
"Then we needed to handle the situation and get back in the game. But the goals today were far too soft, I don`t know if the third one was a free kick on a Lewis Martin but you cannot take that chance and just got to be strong enough and win everything anyway. Just clear it, it is the last minute of the game. You cannot afford for that to happen.
"We are disappointed and now it is about how you react to the next game. There were positives first half, we were miles ahead and it is not as if they changed anything. All they did was launch it long and they did the ugly side of the game better than we did. They picked up the second balls and played from there."
The importance of hitting back immediately after half time was well demonstrated by Morton. The manager recognised that the first Morton goal in just the second minute of the second half was a bad one to lose:-
"It was a poor mistake for us to make. The first ten to fifteen minutes of the second half are always going to be vital. If we kept it 2-0 and then the crowd would get on their back and there would only be one winner.
"We put ourselves under pressure, we gave them a big lift and it is poor when you lose a game in a manner like that second half.
"We stopped passing the ball and went into our shell. Whereas I thought in the first half, we were passing the ball through them. We stopped doing that in the second half and just never picked up the second balls or work hard enough to get on the ball."
The Pars manager revealed that Jason Talbot was requiring stitches for three different cuts. "I don`t think it is anything serious" he concluded although right now Jason possibly would not agree!
