Pars Foundation: Trustee vacancies
Tuesday, 8th Aug 2017The Pars Foundation Reg Charity: SCO43970) were established and registered as a charity in May 2013, responsible for the running of DAFC’s Community Programme.
The structure of the charity allows the Pars Foundation to grow and develop programmes to benefit the community of Dunfermline and West Fife focusing on children’s programmes, health and wellbeing, Education, Elderly, Disability and community deprivation as well as number of other causes.
They deliver inclusive football coaching for all ages from 18 months, and operate 12 boys club (East End Boys FC) teams, playing throughout West Fife. The charity also delivers a number of innovative programmes, such as walking football for older fans, memory box visits for dementia sufferers as well as an active schools programme visiting many of West Fife’s primary schools.
The Foundation has 4 full time and 13 part time employees. It has managed various fund raising events such as the Jock Stein Memorial Match and a zipwire event at East End. The Foundation General Manager has twice visited Haiti to deliver training and education and has gained experiences that can be applied to activities in Fife.
The PF will continue to support those less fortunate than ourselves in Haiti through various fundraising events.
The Foundation is now looking to develop its scope and activities, and to that end we are looking for new Trustees to help drive the Charity forward. We regard this as a great opportunity for suitably motivated individuals and we know that our opportunities are almost endless with the correct people driving the organisation.
We are looking for a diverse group of trustees, and are particularly interested if you can bring one or some of the following:
• A passion for community in West Fife
• A knowledge of education or training
• Previous experience in a charity or fundraising environment
• An enthusiasm for sport, particularly football
• An ability to communicate and make decisions in a group environment
The commitment from trustees is to attend 4 -6 meetings per annum and to be available for activities and advice between meetings. The role is not paid but expenses are reimbursed. The meetings are held in Dunfermline.
