Friday, 21st Jul 2017Dunfermline Athletic are pleased to welcome new club doctor, James Parris to the Football Club.
James, originally from Bermuda previously spent two years as the club doctor at Fife neighbours, Raith Rovers. He is currently a GP Partner at Millhill Surgery.
Speaking to the club website, James said: “Dunfermline Athletic are a club l am familiar with, I have many friends who are lifelong Pars supporters. The Pars are my local team. It is a privilege to be a part of the Dunfermline Athletic Football family!
In 1968, DAFC were due to go on tour to Bermuda and play local opposition. Unfortunately these games were cancelled in favour of the American leg of the tour, involving games against Manchester City.
My role pitchside on match days will be to work along side physio Kenny Murray and the management team to provide medical support to injured players - particularly head injuries
I have been welcomed into the Dunfermline Athletic family with open arms, l can’t wait to get started.”
James will replace former player and long-serving club doctor, Bobby Robertson after his recent retirement.
“It’s big boots to fill replacing Doctor Bobby, he is a legend here, and a great guy who will be missed.”
Ross McArthur, Chairman stated “everyone at DAFC would like to welcome James to East End Park and wish him well in his new role as club doctor, filling Bobby’s boots. I had few meetings with James prior to him agreeing to take on the role and he has real enthusiasm, and is keen to develop in the role”.
