Introducing our new DAO
Wednesday, 28th Jun 2017Dunfermline Athletic are delighted to announce the appointment of volunteer Disability Access Officer (DAO), Lynsey Jones from Glenrothes .
Lynsey will take up the new post with immediate effect and will provide the liaison between the Dunfermline Athletic Disabled Supporters Club (DADSC) and the DAFC Board as well as acting as the point of contact for any disabled supporters who wish to visit East End Park. Lynsey will also be on hand to help DAFC’s own disabled fans should they encounter any issues when attending games home or away.
Lynsey’s appointment as DAO ensures that DAFC continue to meet the UEFA Club Licensing criteria and she will also be able to offer valuable advice when it comes to accessible issues relating to the stadium and club premises.
“Football has been a significant part of my life as my father is an avid fan, my younger brother has played locally for teams throughout Fife and my husband watches the majority of broadcast games!” said Lynsey, “and with three teenage children in the house, it should stand me in good stead for managing situations when emotions are high.
Working as a Support Assistant and volunteer non-executive Director of a local charity, with a continual focus on customer engagement should help a lot when it comes to liaising with supporters, departments at the club and other DAO’s and I’m really looking forward to getting started in my new role with the Pars”.
Chairman of the DADSC, Dave Nugent added “We are delighted at DADSC to welcome Lynsey on board to fulfil this vital role at the Club. Her experience will be highly significant in representing the clubs disabled supporters and ensuring that they continue to see continued improvements in their match-day experience”.
Lynsey can be contacted via email on dao@dafc.co.uk and on matchdays on 07772 284779. She carries out her DAO admin tasks on a Monday and Wednesday, and aims to respond to any emails within 24 hours of those days.
