Stephen Wright
Friday, 26th May 2017Fife Elite Football Academy (FEFA), Stephen Wright has agreed to take on a senior role at Rangers Football Club.
After many years of managing the youth academy structure at Dunfermline Athletic Football Club (DAFC), and subsequently Fife Elite Football Academy (FEFA), Stephen Wright has agreed to take on a senior role at Rangers Football Club, managing their Intermediate Academy structure.
The SFA’s Project Brave has wide ranging implications for the whole of youth football in Scotland, and it undoubtedly creates a degree of uncertainty for the existing structures within provincial football clubs like DAFC, and our neighbours at Raith Rovers, Cowdenbeath and East Fife. Stephen decided now was the right time to develop his career in another direction.
Ross McArthur, Chairman at DAFC commented “while it was disappointing to learn that Stephen has decided to move on to a new role, it is totally understandable at the same time. Stephen has previously turned down other career development opportunities, North and South of the border, which demonstrated his undoubted commitment to youth football at both DAFC and FEFA. Stephen has been very resourceful and resilient over these last few years, working under a difficult set of circumstances, following DAFC going through administration and the transition to FEFA, but his enthusiasm and dedication were always second to none. Along with Bill Hendry, he has worked tirelessly to develop FEFA and leaves with very best wishes of everyone at DAFC.”
