Joined Dunfermline on a season long loan from Dundee on 16 August 2022. Made his debut as a sub v Queen of the South on 3 September 2022.
Sam was recalled by Dundee in January 2023 but after lifting a league title medal with both Dundee and Dunfermline he returned to the KDM in the summer of ‘23 when he agreed a three year deal with the Pars.
A central defender who started his football career off at Gairdoch United. Sam joined Alloa Athletic but was soon signed by Dundee at Under 18 level.
Sam was a regular in the Under 18s and Reserve teams during 2018/19 and was involved in the first team set up the following season.
He featured in pre-season and was on the bench in the Betfred Cup early in the 2019/20 season before joining East Kilbride on loan. At EK he had only played one game when he suffered an ACL injury that kept him out of competitive action from November 2019 until October 2020 when he went out on loan to Forfar Athletic.
James McPake gave him his debut, starting the Championship match away to Raith Rovers on 30 January 2021 in between two loan periods at Forfar. During his two loan periods at Station Park Sam made 20 starts and three off the bench.
In the 2022/23 season Sam made two appearances for Dundee in the Premier Sports Cup before being allowed to join Dunfermline on loan for season 2022/23.
Sam was recalled by Dundee in January 2023 after making 17 appearances for Dunfermline, all but two of which were starts.
