DUNFERMLINE RESERVES 1 HAMILTON RESERVES 6
League leaders Hamilton kicked off this Reserve League match played at Kelty on a very windy and wet Tuesday afternoon. Matt Todd and Lewis McCann started for Greg Shields team in which 20 year old Matty Bowman was the most senior.
The visitors hit the woodwork after 12 minutes when a shot was deflected on to it by Josh Robertson and duly took the lead six minutes later when Jamie HAMILTON headed home after a number of corners. 0-1
Ronan HUGHES made it two when he converted a Darian McKinnon cross. Then there was a landslide of goals three in three minutes before half time. 0-2
Adrian Beck was taken down on the edge of the box and Andy WINTER stepped up to hit it past Ben Swinton. 0-3
The fourth Hamilton goal came from a Reegan MIMNAUGH free kick sent in from the right that Ben Swinton at his near post couldn’t hold. 0-4
To rub further salt into the wound BECK struck a fifth before the interval.
Although Dunfermline had been put under great pressure for the first half hour and the majority of the time they had been defending there had been melt down in the final five minutes of the half.
Half time: Dunfermline 0 Hamilton 5
For the restart Dunfermline made three substitutions, Gregor Jordan, Lucas Berry and Kieran Mitchell on for Thomas Bragg, Cammy Graham and Quinn Coulson. Five minutes into the second half Mimnaugh sent a 25 yards free kick on to the right goalpost and after the Pars enjoyed a fair bit of possession Bowman sent in a dangerous ball to the near post that Hamilton cleared.
A Bowman free kick on the hour picked out Jordan at the far post but his knock back evaded Lewis Sawers. Lennon Watson then replace Josh Robertson with Miller Fenton moving inside to central defence.
Berry received a good pass to allow him a shot from the edge of the box but it got deflected for a corner on the left that the Pars overhit. Hamilton then added to their tally with HUGHES converting a 70th minute penalty given after Brown had pushed him as he burst in on goal. 0-6
The home side got a goal back in 76th minute when from a Fenton corner sent over from the right, MITCHELL appeared to get the touch in a crowded six yard box. 1-6
Next a Bowman cross dipped into the Hamilton goalmouth and keeper Ross Connelly tipped the ball behind for a Bowman corner on the left that the defence headed clear.
No further goals but a convincing victory for the Premier League club.
