DUNFERMLINE 1 HAMILTON ACCIES 4
Ryan Williamson, Lewis Martin, Lewis Spence and Scott Lochhead came into the side that drew with Dundee United on Good Friday. Fourth placed Hamilton keen to keep up their challenge on leaders Ross County as the sides went into their third last Development League match of the season at New Central Park, Kelty. Reece Duncan, Robbie Crawford and Josh Robertson all found themselves on the bench.
The home side created some early hope from a Spence free kick and then a Brandon Luke cross from the left after he had travelled down the wing. Hamilton then had a sixth minute free kick that Cunningham sent wide and two minutes later Williamson made a great tackle on Templeton inside the Pars box.
Hamilton turned up the heat and very soon got their reward. Ferguson and Cunningham both had shots blocked and Cammy Gill saved from Boyd before TEMPLETON scored an eleventh minute opener. 0-1
The goalscorer struck again next minute, TEMPLETON find the corner of the net from the edge of the box. 0-2
Spence was caught offside before another Accies attack saw Watson send his shot flying over the crossbar. Williamson and Horne combined well on the right in 19 minutes but Williamson was offside when the final pass came to him.
Dunfermline did test the keeper two minutes later when Spence, Smith and then Williamson had a role, the latter sending in a good low ball that the keeper blocked. Williamson then had another shot, a Horne free kick looked dangerous and then great skill by Luke resulted in a shot that rattled the crossbar but Galloway`s follow up was blocked and then cleared.
Both sides had attempts at goal that were high before the Pars got a goal back 12 minutes from half time. Good play by Galloway, Luke and SMITH for the latter to slot home from the centre of the Accies box.
In 42nd minute Hamilton were awarded a penalty for Stuart Morrison`s tackle on Ferguson. TIERNEY stepped forward and although Gill saved the taker slotted in the rebound.
Half time: Dunfermline 1 Hamilton Accies 3
Hamilton were able to take comfort from their two goal advantage. John Potter felt that his side never really got going in the second half and conceded that Hamilton were the better team.
The visitors keeper Darren Jamieson held a header from Callum Fordyce and on the hour the Pars centre back had a go from a free kick that he sent over the bar. Hamilton continued to create opportunities and first Morrison and then Fordyce cleared dangerous balls into the box.
Hamilton added a fourth in 78 minutes when TIERNEY headed home from a Boyd corner. 1-4.
Further Hamilton chances fell to Ferguson who firstly made Gill save and then in 84 minutes hit his effort over the keeper`s crossbar. The win took Hamilton into second spot ahead of the evening fixtures, Dunfermline remain tenth.
