U20s v Raith Rovers
Tuesday, 16th Aug 2016Pre Season Friendly: Pars come from behind to win emphatically
A strong U20 team took on Raith Rovers at Central Park, Kelty in a pre season friendly on Tuesday afternoon. The match provided match time for Michael Paton in his return from a hernia operation and also allowed manager Allan Johnston to view a Trialist striker who was to score two goals.
The Kirkcaldy side opened the scoring at a corner from the left in 11th minute. The Pars had shots on target but none that troubled the keeper.
One down at the interval the Pars got off quickly in the second half. Lewis Spence, Paul McMullan and the Trialist all had shots that were blocked before David HOPKIRK scored at the third of three early corners.
The TRIALIST put the Pars ahead in 63 minutes, scoring with a header on a Hopkirk cross from the left. Eight minutes later TRIALIST notched another after a Reece Duncan clearance was sent on by Paton. The finish from the right side went under the advancing keeper to find the far side of the net.
Dunfermlne dominated the second half and deserved their win.
