CROSSGATES PRIMROSE 0 DUNFERMLINE 8
Callum Fordyce started another match in a young U20s team in this friendly played at Humbug Park on Wednesday night. The visitors kicked off attacking the goal at the north end and produced the first chance in fifth minute when Scott Lochhead headed a Conner Duthie looping towards goal but the keeper Robert Wilson managed to hold before the ball crossed the line.
Crossgates central defender Conor Gray was yellow carded for a fierce challenge on Callum Smith before Robbie CRAWFORD received a clearance and his shot from outside the box took a deflection as it sailed into the net. 0-1
Reece Duncan and then James Thomas had good chances. Reece on the end of a counterattack led by Lochhead out to Crawford on the left and then crossed for the full back to meet it but then blocked by a defender.
Midway through the half Crawford took on and rounded three opponents before sending a shot narrowly wide of the right upright. The skills were worthy of a goal but not this time.
The second Pars goal was only minutes away and came from a free kick on the left, Conner DUTHIE finding the net with a fine effort from 25 yards out on the left side. 0-2
Cammy Gill was called upon to palm out a cross from Trialist no.10 after he had reached the byeline on the left. Lochhead and Duncan sent shots wide and Smith had a good shot saved before in 38 minutes Thomas was denied twice. Having beat the keeper the ball was cleared off the line and then from the resultant corner the keeper kept Thomas out with a good block.
Five minutes from the break Duthie whipped another effort in from the left but it went wide of the far post. The home side`s first shot on target came in 44th minute when Connor Kirkton slipped the ball to Scott Devaney to his left but Gill had a relatively easy take.
Half time: Crossgates Primrose 0 Dunfermline 2
The half was only in its fourth minute when THOMAS squeezed the ball in from an acute angle and despite a sea of yellow shirts surrounding him. 0-3
Three minutes later Fordyce was up to head down a corner from the left and although Wilson did not take cleanly his defence blocked out Thomas` efforts to net another. The fourth goal did come in 54th minute SMITH on the end an inviting ball for the striker. 0-4
Lochhead curled in a corner from the left that was headed off the line by a defender and then in a similar scenario the keeper cleared off the line only for THOMAS to produce an overhead kick to net a fifth..
The striker completed his hattrick three minutes later in 70th minute and this was a fitting end to a great move. Cammy Gill threw the ball out to Crawford who swiftly sent the ball right where Duncan set off at pace to get level with the 18 yard line and cross for THOMAS to net with another overhead attempt. 0-6
Owen Andrew then replaced Thomas and Jack McClair came on at left back in place of Conner Duthie, Josh Dunn followed a minute later as Cammy Gill stepped down.
The seventh goal came from the penalty spot in 78 minutes with GALLOWAY smashing his effort straight down the middle. Callum Fordyce`s header at a Pars corner from the right caused the trouble and a Primrose hand was used in an attempt to clear.
Robbie CRAWFORD finished the scoring five minutes from time to complete the rout.
