Half time: Partick Thistle 2 Dunfermline 2
The first goal of the second half was scored by Thistle in 49 minutes when David Hutton could not stop a low shot to his left. 3-2
There were wholesale changes to the Pars team in 55 minutes and it became 4-2 in 68 minutes and Dunfermline got a consolation. The Pars third goal came five minutes from time. a fine moving involving the trialists playing at left back and up front. 4-3
Next Lewis Spence had a good attempt with a shot from outside the box but Scully saved it low to his right and on to the post.
Manager Allan Johnston thought it was a really worthwhile exercise. He told the website:
"A lot of younger ones came on later on and they did really well to. It was a good game, we scored three really good goals. We need to clear up the mistakes defensively. They got a penalty as well which looked soft. You cannot afford to lose goals like that, they scored with a free header at a corner so we don`t want to lose goals like that especially with the height that we have got.
"They are the kind of things that we will learn from. If you look at the goals that we scored, they were all from open play, good play, passing the ball well, good movement and good finishes. That is the hardest thing to do, so I am delighted.
"They looked really sharp. Obviously not happy not to win the game but delighted with the individual performances of the players. For long periods I thought that we were the better team.
"It is only our first game but we have to keep on building the sharpness and fitness. We have a lot of tough friendlies coming up so it is not going to be easy.. It is all about the players and making sure that they are 100% fit come the start of the season."
