Shaun Byrne, Ryan Williamson and Lewis Martin were available to John Potter for this SPFL U20 League against Hamilton on Tuesday night. Despite British Summer Time, the floodlights were on for the six o`clock kick off. The visitors kicked off but lost possession quickly and Paul Joseph CROSSAN embarked on a solo run down the left, cutting into the box and slotting home from an angle all within 21 seconds. 1-0
A Hamilton free kick by Daniel Alexander in eighth minute was defended as was the corner on the left that followed. It was on the counterattack that Hamilton scored a ninth minute equaliser. Paul George made the break and laced the ball through to Craig JOHNSTON on the edge of the box to shoot past Ryan Goodfellow. 1-1
Hamilton went into the lead midway through the first half when Armstrong`s free kick from the left travelled to Craig WATSON at the far post to head home. 1-2 The one goal lead became two just two minutes from the break. Armstrong had continued the cause the Pars defence problems forcing Goodfellow to save twice at his near post before Greg DOCHERTY scored Hamilton`s third. The goal came from a Watson cross from the right and the no.7 chested down the ball to fire in from eight yards.
Half Time: Dunfermline 1 Hamilton 3
The Pars upped their game in the second half with Williamson delivering two good crosses from the right and Scott Mercer sending in a couple of corners. Scott Gray shot over the crossbar, Crossan came close to converting a Finn Graham cross with thr Trailist goalkeeper forced into making two good saves. The next goal however was to come at the other end.
Andy RYAN scored when Hamilton hit on the counter attack but BYRNE got one back three minutes later. It was an easy chance after good supporting play from Martin down the left. 2-4
Scott Gray headed a Wiliamson cross over the bar and Declan O`Kane had a header that hit the post and was cleared. Goodfellow stopped a useful attempt from Ryan before more chances dropped to the Pars. Graham and Gray were both off target but when Lewis SPENCE slotted in Dunfermline`s third there was little time for an added time equaliser.
