Celtic were the visitors for the U20s league match on Monday night and they had the first chance when in the seventh minute, Michal Hrivnak caused some hearts to flutter when he nearly got caught out at the corner flag trying to usher the ball for a goal kick.
Shortly after Stephen Husband had a shot which went wide and that was followed up by Fayssal El Bakhtaoui shooting wide left ten minutes later. In the 27th minute a header by Blair Henderson goalwards which Preben Erland ran on to before he was unceremoniously fouled in the box by a couple of Celtic defenders resulted in a penalty being given. Blair HENDERSON duly converted, sending keeper Thomson the wrong way.
The lead was not to last long however as Celtic equalised three minutes later with a cross from left back Chalmers which was headed into the net by JOHNSTONE.
Celtic then had decent shots from Eadie, Herron and George before the break and Blair Henderson sent another header over the bar for the young Pars.
Half time: Dunfermline 1 Celtic 1
Ryan Goodfellow replaced Hrivnak in goal at half time. In the 53rd minute Lewis Martin gave away a free kick just outside the box but this was blocked by the defensive wall.Shortly after this, Twardzik shot over the bar after a good cross from the right. Fayssal should have done better with a chance in the 71st minute, but he blasted the ball over the bar.
Five minutes later Celtic took the lead when TWARDZIK converted George`s cross. Goodfellow had another good save in 82 minutes and two minutes later a good cross from Ritchie for Henderson was grabbed by Robbie Thomson.

Coach John Potter summarised after the match:-
"I thought we did ok in the first half. I thought it was pretty even, although they had a bit of possession I thought we had the better chances in the first half. We got the penalty and went in front but didn`t hold the lead long enough.
"I was disappointed with their goal, it was a free cross and a free header. I was generally quite pleased, we did ok. The second half we didn`t start properly and I thought Celtic were pretty dominant. We swapped it about a bit when we made the substitutions but we were a bit all over the place and then we lost another bad goal. It was another cross and another header.
"Celtic had a lot of possession in the second half without creating loads of chances, but they were the better team in the second half and probably deserved the win. First half I was generally quite happy with, but the second half a wee bit disappointed.
"We had two or three chances in the first half and Fayssal had a good chance in the second half as well. I thought Blair Henderson was excellent, he held the ball in and was excellent the whole game, especially in the first half. It was good experience for the young guys playing against these 19/20 year olds which will hold them in good stead."
