U19s v Kelty Hearts
Tuesday, 20th Jul 2010Youngsters go down to two goal defeat to experienced Kelty Hearts team
KELTY HEARTS 2 DUNFERMLINE 0
A young Dunfermline team were out-muscled by a strong and experienced Kelty side. Fraser Moncrieff had a good early chance but keeper Allan Fleming blocked. Kelty then had the better of the chances, forcing trialist keeper Aaron Sommerville into saves and blocks.
Kelty continued to be kept out but in 31 minutes striker Craig MORRISON fired a low shot low beyond the Pars keeper`s right to give the Central Park side the lead.
The two Dunfermline central defenders - Kerr Young and Grant Munro did a sterling job containing the Junior Super League team. Kelty were on top yet Conor Schiavone had a one on one with Fleming that he just failed to convert.
Kelty powered efforts over the bar and past the post, Blair McWhirter cleared off the line but fifteen minutes from the end a corner was cleared only as far as ex Par Clark KAY and from the edge of the box he drilled the ball home.
Pars sub Blair Henderson made Fleming turn a shot around his left hand post but in this tough test, the U19s were not to score a consolation.
