DUNFERMLINE 6 COWDENBEATH 0

The Pars kept up their free scoring League form by hitting six past their local rivals making it 15 goals in the last three league games. Scott McIntosh continued upfront for Dunfermline but with Lee Graham departed from the club, Kerr Young came in at centre back.

There were early signs that Dunfermline were to dominate. In nine minutes Stefan Scougall was taken down and Rees Smith whacked the 25 yard free kick wide left. Next minute Lewis Turner had a fierce shot blocked and although Cowden`s Rory Emslie picked out John Ferguson at the near post Craig Bald was out fast to force the striker to shoot wide right.

In 14 minutes McIntosh sent John MacDonald deep down the right, a corner was won and that led to another from the left. This time Turner`s delivery was met by Steven Leslie and he was unlucky to see his glancing header saved. The Pars kept up the continual pressure in their opponents half . In 22 minutes Leslie went on a surging run keeping the ball on the deck to feed McIntosh an opportunity but keeper Lee Wilson did well to parry the shot over his bar.

Immediately Scougall made the assist that set up McIntosh to feed TURNER to his left. He finished well with composure at the near post to open the scoring for Dunfermline. MacDonald smashed a 26th minute effort over the bar before the visitors passed over a great chance to equalise at the other end. Miller missed Emslie`s cross in front of goal and Gill at the far side walloped the chance over the bar.

Leslie looked as though he had number two in 39 minutes after McIntosh had done all the hard work rounding two opponents in the box to centre for his co-striker. Remarkably Jordyn Gill got back to clear Leslie`s netbound shot off the line. The Cowden goal survived again before half time when McIntosh displayed good close control before firing across the face of goal.

Half Time: Dunfermline 1 Cowdenbeath 0

TURNER gave another display of how to finish just two minutes after the turnaround. Leslie cut back on the the right for MacDonald to send the ball into the danger zone and the ball was put away from six yards. It should have been 3-0 three minutes later but from just eight yards out Leslie put the ball over the top from MacDonald`s good cross.

Cowdenbeath kept Bauld alert with Ferguson forcing him into a fine save and then Gill thrashed the loose ball on to the left upright. Hamish French then chose to bring on two of his young hopefuls - Kevin McHattie and Sean Byrne replacing Rees Smith and Stefan Scougall.

The visitors changed their keeper and Jamie Clelland came on for Lee Wilson. The sub keeper played well but went on to be beaten by four fine Dunfermline finishes. A Turner corner was bent in from the right and LESLIE rose to head in number three. A great ball from MacDonald set up McINTOSH for a fourth, another good finish past Clelland.

MacDonald was then subbed and his replacement Jamie BIRNIE was excellently placed just two minutes later to meet a Leslie cross from the left. The ball was diverted into the net from six yards and Dunfermline went five up.

With darkness descending on the Fleet Ground, in 81st minute of the match Leslie latched on to a quickly taken throw in on the left. The cross was ideally set up for McINTOSH to net and complete a miserable night for Cowdenbeath.
