Blair McWhirter and Scott McIntosh were missing from the side that drew 1-1 against Airdrie United the previous Sunday. Jamie Birnie and Conner Schivone came in for the trip to Recreation Park.
The first half lacked goalmouth incident although the visitors had the better of the chances. Steven Leslie was unlucky at a fourth minute goalmouth scramble and then ten minutes later John MacDonald sprinted up the right to control and send over a ball from the corner flag that keeper Steven Hall held diving out in front of Ryan Thomson.
Schivone set up Rees Smith in 28 minutes as the full back went forward on a surging run but he was unlucky to be tackled as he lined up his shot. Smith clipped a 30 yard free kick over the three man wall but Lee Graham was not able to get his head on the cross. The only other shots were from Aaron Scott and Alloa`s Neil Cochrane but both were held by the goalkeepers.

The Pars lost a goal just six minutes into the second half when a free kick from the left was defended poorly and substitute Ryan SOMMERVILLE had an easy task to smack the ball past Craig Bald from six yards.
Steven Hall had to deal with two good attempts from Scott. The first from 30 yards he dived at full stretch to hold, then he touched away a shot from a Smith cross. At the other end the Pars defence failed to prevent Stevenson and Sommerville fight for possession and were lucky to concede only a corner in 61 minutes.
In 66 minutes Craig Duncan saw his effort turned over the crossbar by Bald but from the corner kick on the left DUNCAN turned the ball past Bald to give the Wasps a two goal advantage. Another Scott shot was stopped by Hall and although Dunfermline went forward they seemed to get squeezed off the ball at the crucial moment.
Steven LESLIE got the Pars back into the game in 74 minutes when he headed home a Dean Elder cross from a quick break down the right. The Fifers then put up a strong push for an equaliser. Scott sent a free kick over the bar and from a Turner corner Graham headed down for Leslie who, back to goal, tried an overhead that went the same way.
