Reserves v Ross County
Tuesday, 27th Oct 2009Pars win in Dingwall - McDougall and Willis on target
ROSS COUNTY 0 DUNFERMLINE 2
This Reserve League Cup match was played at the Academy Ground, Dingwall in preference to the heavy Victoria Park surface.
Steven McDOUGALL put the Pars ahead on the half hour when Stephen Glass headed down for the striker to produce a great turn and create an opening that saw him bury the ball in the bottom right corner of the County net.
Dunfermline finished the first half well and got their passing game going to the satisfaction of their coach Gerry McCabe but it took them until ten minutes from the end to make the result secure. McDougall embarked on a run wide right that let him cut back for Paul WILLIS who released a great finish to find the top right of the goal. Ross County were limited to few chances but none that were to beat Paterson.
Young U19s Ryan Thomson, Steven Leslie and John MacDonald came on in the second half to impress their coach and Stephen Glass came through his 70 minutes of competitive action with no reaction.
