U19s v Stenhousemuir
Monday, 19th Oct 2009Goals from Jordan White (2) and Ryan Thomson put Pars Under 19s top of the league.
STENHOUSEMUIR 2 DUNFERMLINE 3
Dunfermline kept up their run of good results to go top of the table on Friday night after defeating Stenhousemuir on their own astroturf last Friday night. The visitors took the lead in the third minute when John MacDonald ended a fine move down the right with a cross into the box that Jordan WHITE directed past the home keeper.
Stenny clawed back an equaliser from the penalty spot just nine minutes later. Lee Graham had been penalised for high feet at a long throw that bounced awkwardly on the surface. The Pars had some good chances before half time with Steven Leslie striking well only for the keeper to save and Stefan Scougall testing him again with an attempt from distance.
Despite starting the second half well, Dunfermline went behind in 52 minutes when possibly caught out by the pitch again, Graham cleared to an opponent on the edge of his box who accepted the chance. WHITE got the Pars level again just two minutes later when he latched on to a good pass through from Harry McGregor and slotted it past the keeper.
The match winner came nine minutes from time when Blair McWhirter`s long ball picked out Ryan THOMSON and he took the ball into the box before shooting past the helpless keeper.
