U19s v Stirling Albion
Friday, 21st Nov 2008Another win for U19s thanks to a Ryan Thomson double, Lee Graham and John MacDonald
STIRLING ALBION 1 DUNFERMLINE 4
The Dunfermline U19s recorded their second successive three goal margin win when accounting for their Stirling opponents at Forthbank on Friday night.
The Pars threatened from early corners and Lawrie Cannon fired a shot over the crossbar in 13th minute. Five minutes later a good move involving Jordan White and Ryan Thomson found John MacDonald in a good position to send the ball low across the face of goal but with none of his colleagues were able to convert.
MacDonald had an effort over the bar before the visitors took the lead in 26 minutes. A Lewis Turner corner was defended out only as far as THOMSON and drove home from the edge of the box.
Four minutes from the interval another Turner corner had the same effect but this time Lee GRAHAM headed in. The two goal lead was stretched to three within 30 seconds in the second half, John MacDONALD finding the bottom corner following his individual run up the right.
Craig Bald was called upon to save a John Boyle free kick in 57 minutes but could not prevent a goalmouth melee leaking a goal four minutes later.
The three goal difference was restored at the midway stage of the second half when THOMSON`s shot hit the right upright and went in off the unfortunate Cawley.
After that double saves from Bald denied Stirling another and Dunfermline ended with sub Connor Schivone forcing a good save from Cawley at the other end.
