CLYDE 1 DUNFERMLINE 3
Dunfermline took full advantage of the Friday night fixture on the Broadwood Fieldturf against Clyde to earn the three points that takes them above Raith Rovers to the top of the SFL U19 league. It took the visitors some time to adapt to the pitch and light that would have set cricket umpires into debate.
Clyde could have taken the lead from their various first half chances but Pars keeper Craig Bauld was in top form. The Fifers best chance of the first half came after Ryan Thomson and Conner Schivone had carved the right side of the Clyde defence apart. Thomson finished that 36th minute move with a fine delivery that Jordan White could only scuff wide.
Dunfermline looked much more comfortable in the second half and produced an exquisite passing movement to score in 56 minutes. Chris Lennon swung the ball out wide left but Scott McBride switched the ball straight back into the danger area where THOMSON did the damage.
In 75 minutes McBride sent a free kick in from the left and Jordan WHITE arrived at just the right time to turn the ball in low with a good finish from eight yards.
Nerves returned when Clyde got a goal back with just eight minutes left. Andrew CROSS the scorer after Darren Walker`s ball over from the right corner flag dropped nicely for him.
Dunfermline ran out winners with a third goal in 90th minute putting a deserved gloss on the scoreline. As last man, Clyde`s Sean Forbes was red carded when he took the legs away from Chris Lennon and Paul WILLIS tucked the free kick round the wall from 20 yards and into the bottom right of the net.
