U19s v Dundee
Sunday, 25th Nov 2007Injury hit squad lose out narrowly at Glenesk Park
DUNDEE 3 DUNFERMLINE 2
Injuries are mounting in the U19s (Gary Leighton, John Paul McLennan, Scott Waddell, Gary MacLachlan, Derek Howie, John McCulloch) and coupled with losing Scott McBride and Greg Paterson on duty at the Challenge Cup Final, it was an understrength side that faced Dundee at noon on Sunday.
Captain for the day, Kris MAXWELL led by example sticking away a six yard box chance in just seven minutes but Kevin Milne set up Craig FORSYTH to net from six yards five minutes later.
In 23 minutes Dundee went ahead as keeper Craig Bauld misjudged Jamie GARVOCK`s free kick looping over him from 35 yards out. After the break they extended their lead to 3-1 via a fourteen yarder from MILNE but 14 minutes from time Stuart Dearden headed against the crossbar and sub MARTIN netted the rebound.
Unfortunately there were no more goals and it was to be another honourable defeat.
