Noel Hunt put the Pars ahead after only nine minutes nipping in front of Motherwell keeper Barry John Corr to head in a Greg Ross cross. Pushing forward to attack from a free kick just four minutes later the Pars were caught on the break and Alex Burns put the visitors back on level terms.
Pat Scullion a 21st minute substitute for Ian Campbell burst through but his shot hit the post. The ball broke to Derek Lyle who controlled it before sending in a cross that Hunt again met at the front post to restore the home team’s advantage with just ten minutes to the interval.
There were no further goals until two minutes from time when Hunt collected a long kick from Jamie Langfield to feed his co-striker Simon Donnelly. Last week’s hat trick hero accepted the chance and finished with style.
