SPL:
Hibs: -Chic Charnley (25, 79), Barry Lavety (31), Stevie Crawford (38), Pat McGinlay (55)
DAFC:- Marc Millar (pen 16), Stewart Petrie (80)

The wishes of the Pars fans came true with the inclusion in the starting line up of Marc Millar for the first time this season. His debut started brilliantly after Andy Smith was upended by the Hibs keeper. With a penalty awarded MILLAR sought out the ball and kept a firm grip on it until he dispatched the penalty for a 1-0 advantage.

Then it all went horribly wrong as Millar hit the woodwork when it should have been 2 and Chic Charnley made the best of a soft free kick, with Derek Fleming risking the wrath of the whistler. CHARNLEY was allowed a much heralded shot at goal that Westie watched fly to his right hand corner.

Hibs goal 2 was a fluke as a strong pass from the left eluded three Pars defenders to hit Barry LAVETY on the back of the head to find the net.

Goal 3 for Hibs came from a ludicrous pass back from Colin Miller. Miller struck a firm pass to Westie but it ricocheted off Andy Tod into the path of Stevie CRAWFORD who had an easy job to score.

Half time: Hibernian 3 Dunfermline 1

Ivo Den Bieman came on for Dave Barnett and Stewart Petrie replaced Allan Moore for the second half and Dunfermline fought and tried hard from the re-start.

The previous 4-4-2 formation switched to 4-4-3 with Hamish French operating up front with Petrie and Smith. But Hibs extended their lead with goals from McGINLAY and CHARNLEY (complete breakaway) before Stewart Petrie got a consolation.

Petrie had missed two or three chances and Millar hit the upright yet again Luck was not with the Pars who having lost Dave Barnett to injury, experienced severe defensive problems after Barnett had to go off.

Dunfermline fought bravely but were let down by a very leaky defence.
