Congratulations to Jim Leishman in winning the FORTH2 Contribution to Sports Award at the Radio Forth Awards. Entrants were particularly strong this year, the other two finalists being famous in the world of tennis and golf: Andy Murray and Catriona Matthews.
The FORTH2 Contribution to Sport Award is designed to reward someone who has increased the profile, participation or awareness of any sport in Edinburgh, the Lothian's and Fife. The winner could be involved in any sport at any level across the area and what we are looking for someone who, through their actions, has made an impact on sport within their community.
The FORTH2 Contribution to Sports Award was sponsored by Buyrite Bathrooms.
Jim Leishman has already received two honours this year in recognition for his work with the Foundation set up in memory of his late wife, Mary who died in February. He was named Sports Person of the Year at the News of the World Bighearted Scotland Awards. Jim was also presented with the Sunday Mail Great Scot Award for all his work with the Foundation and the inspiration he has been to the people of Scotland.
