Preview Falkirk
Wednesday, 1st Nov 2006Only two Dunfermline wins in the last dozen league meetings and half the games have been drawn.
The local derby comes at a time when Dunfermline really need to bag some points to prevent a gap opening up between them and the teams in 8th, 9th and 10th places in the SPL. The Pars in 11th are one point ahead of Craig Levein`s new charges at Dundee United but with Motherwell in 10th playing St Mirren in 8th the wrong combination of results could open up a five point gap. The right results could put DA just three points off seventh place. [Match Day Hospitality]

Falkirk in 9th will be stiff competition, but then they always are and they will be seeking to add East End Park to Tannadice, Tynecastle and Easter Road as locations of their away points in this SPL season.
Dunfermline`s 1-0 defeat at the Falkirk Stadium back in August will boost their opponent`s confidence but last Saturday`s 5-1 thrashing of United will possibly be their greatest tonic ahead of this clash. The Pars too had a good result last week in Edinburgh so both teams will be going into this match in search of full points. That should make for a good match and no doubt the special atmosphere of the derby game will add to the occasion.
