Money in the pipeline from Rigger Al

Wednesday, 5th Nov 2014

The support and generosity of the Pars Family across the globe continues unabated.

Alan Todd has been a Pars fan for over 46 years, and has been working in the oil and gas industry for over 20 years. He is currently assigned in Bahrain, but he keeps up to date with events at East End Park, and regularly watches his beloved Pars on Pars TV. Those who read the dafc.net forum will know him as “Rigger Al”, or more generally as “toddie”. Alan ran the famous Brucefield bus alongside Robert Kirkwood for many years. Alan recently approached our club and asked to make a donation.

Director Ross McArthur, told the story:-
“DAFC is delighted that Alan has decided to personally contribute £500 towards improving the arrangements for disabled fans at East End Park. This was given without prompting and without any strings attached, to be used at the club’s discretion. I thank Alan for his kindness and generosity.

"The money has now been ring-fenced in the DAFC accounts, and will be used only as Alan has asked. The details will be agreed with the Disabled Access Group (made up of volunteers from the Supporters’ Council) but it looks very likely that we will use it towards the cost of induction loop equipment to help those with a hearing impairment.

"Helping DAFC improve the matchday experience for our disabled supporters by generous acts like Alan’s is just one of the many ways to help the club, so if any supporter or business would like to discuss an idea they might have, please get in touch with me at directors@dafc.co.uk"
