McGregor back in the mix
Thursday, 1st Apr 2010"The win over Dundee gets us back in the mix again. Obviously the last two defeats knocked us back a wee bit but we have a few games coming up and fingers crossed we will get the results.
Neil McGregor returned to the starting eleven for the match against Dundee following two games on the bench after recovering from injury:-
"It was obviously good to come back into the team and get a win. I am a bit disappointed that we didn't get a clean sheet but it was a great win in the end. It was a night for mistakes but we kept it solid and did well."
Neil and his team mates were well aware that the match against Dundee on Tuesday was a game that was crucial to keep Dunfermline's promotion hopes alive:
"We had to win, Inverness have won as well so it's in there hands really. Obviously we have got them to play but every one is as important as that one tonight. The win over Dundee gets us back in the mix again and obviously the last two defeats knocked us back a wee bit but we have a few games coming up and fingers crossed we get the results."
Could it be that the Dunfermline players are looking back over defeats in the last two matches and other silly losses earlier on in the season and saying'what if.'
"A wee bit, but teams will drop points all over the place and every team is going to do it so we are not really worried about it."
Neil did not really see how Greg Paterson's leg break just after the half hour, came about:
"I had turned round as I thought the ball had cleared, but he was still lying on the ground and his leg was hanging there, so I indicated to the touchline to get the stretcher on as quick as possible. It has taken a bit of a dampener off the result. He (Greg) has performed really well, obviously at the Queen of the South game he didn't really have much to do and we still got beat but he has done brilliantly. The Dundee player was really upset about the injury and he didn't mean to do that to anybody."
The remaining five matches - only two of which are at home - will be all important as Neil said:-
"The rest of the games are all like cup finals, so we will just need to concentrate on the next one and see how we get on."
