Manager Friday Lunchtime

Friday, 16th Oct 2009

16/10/09: "I don't really look into what we have done in previous games, this is a different team. It's the first time we will have been up there ..

Jim McIntyre revealed this lunchtime that Stephen Glass and Scott Muirhead are the only players out of Saturday's match in Inverness through injury. Stephen Glass is back running and coming along fine so will soon increase the competition for places.Scott Muirhead has a back injury, which is being assessed but the Manager added:-

"Everyone came through Tuesday's game at Dingwall ok."

He would not use the word revenge but knew that the three points conceded to Terry Butcher's team on the opening day of the season need reclaimed in the Highland capital:-

"Every game is different, we've just got to look at it and build on the last two results. It's a tough place to go and they have been struggling at home but we have to go there and try to get them continue to struggle.

"We know how difficult it will be, they got a good result midweek and that will have helped their confidence level.

"They are a good side, they have SPL players, it will be difficult.  They are a big, strong physical team but we have done ok in the last couple of games and we hope to progress on that."

Understandably Macca dismissed poor results on previous outings to Inverness that have seen the Pars only win twice in eight trips:-

"I don't really look into what we have done in previous games, this is a different team.  It's the first time we will have been up there, so you have got to look at it like that and try to go and win the game. Superstitions mean nothing."

With a large grin he was willing to recall one of the last Pars goals in Inverness:-

"It was a world class goal as well.I scored two, another one in my first game back against Inverness."

All the sides in this league have now met each other and when asked if there was any team that's surprised him or done better than expected, Jim McIntyre plumped for the league new boys:-

"I think you have got to give credit to Raith Rovers, they have done very well, coming up a Division.  John (McGlynn) has them really well organised and they are a decent side, very workmanlike and it's credit to them that they have done so well. They have done exceptionally well."

He agreed that the league is still as competitive this season as it was last.It is such that everyone can beat anybody on their day:-

"That's right, and it proved that way midweek with Ayr coming back and scoring two against Dundee and taking a point.  It is such a tough league and it will continue that way throughout the course of the season."

The U19s play Stenhousemuir away on Friday night kick off, 8.00pm.
