Austin McCann Post Partick
Monday, 28th Mar 2011"Hopefully it is a good draw but we will find out at the end of the season. With the other result it looks like a chance missed.
Despite missing out on the chance to go back on top of the league, Austin McCann was upbeat after Saturday's drawn match at home to Ian McCall's Partick Thistle:-
"Hopefully it is a good draw but we will find out at the end of the season. With the other result it looks like a chance missed. Thistle made it really difficult for us today, they came here and got a result but we are still in it and it is in our own hands.
"Falkirk are back in it now and although I know they have three games in hand I do not know who they are against."
Well two are against Partick Thistle and the other is against Cowdenbeath but Austin is not contemplating what it would be like for him as team captain being presented with the championship trophy:-
"You can't think about that, we have to take every game as it comes. It is a busy period for us right now and Ross County this Tuesday will be our fourth midweek game in a row. We were up there a month ago and it was a tough game, so we can expect the same again."
The 31 year old defender stressed how tough it is in the First Division:-
"Ross County are still fighting for their lives and even Partick Thistle were chasing league places too. Everybody has something to play for and that makes it so tight and so hard.
"It is not about pretty football and who plays the best now; it is about character, determination and bottle to go out there and get the results. We have a close dressing room and we will fight for each other. We kept going and going in that game there and if anybody was going to win it it was going to be us. We kept driving, showed a good attitude and it was just a shame that we couldn't nick a goal to win the game."
