All part of the team
Friday, 25th Dec 2015Manager Allan Johnston recognises the part played by the East End Park ball boys
In the run up to Christmas the manager recognised the contribution made by those who take to the field immediately before his team. The ball boys were recognised with selection boxes from manager Allan Johnston and he added some words of praise for his East End helpers:-
"The ball boys put in some effort when you see some of the conditions this year it is incredible. Teams come here and try to slow the game down and it is great when they are getting the ball in quick.
"They just want to be part of it and you can see how much it means to them when you see the smiles on their faces when the boys win. It is great to see them and maybe one of two of them could be playing for Dunfermline in a few years time."
The ball boys are selected from members of the Young Pars and the manager had clocked just how big supporters of the team they were:-
"You could see in the Dundee game one or two of them were in amongst the players celebrating. Being about the place and meeting the players is so important to them.
"They do a brilliant job in all weathers and it is great to get the ball back into play as quickly as possible. We might need them for Cowdenbeath away, the last time the ball went out the park for 43 minutes last time we played them. That shows you the difference that ball boys can make!"
