"It is just a matter of getting a wee bit more clinical; if we get more clinical we will get results.

Alex Burke made his home debut for the Pars on Saturday but after two starts he is yet to be on a winning side. He reflected:-

"It was a game we should have won given the amount of chances we created. Even after the sending off we still created a few chances, so the boys are disappointed that we have not won the game.

"I don't know how the boy didn't actually get a touch and didn't put it in the net. When Stevie crossed it I was thinking 'just tap in' but just as it got to me just the slightest touch took it out of my path. I have ended up in the net and how the ball never ended up in the net I don't know. Good defending from the boys to be fair.

"We had chances where we were unlucky and even when we went down to ten men we created a couple of chances. We also had a couple of stonewall penalties turned down. Stephen Simmons, he did eventually get his shot away but he was falling and off balance when he hit his shot. The boy was pulling at him.

"The rules say that you try and give the guy advantage but if there is no fair advantage you have to pull it back. I don't know how he didn't give a penalty. I also don't know how he sent Kevin (Harper) off. You would need to ask the ref that.

"I think it was a turning point. You could see the way we dominated the first half then we came out in the second half and Kevin got sent off straight away. When a team has maybe been up against it and the other team gets a man sent off, it gives Partick a lift. All of a sudden they come into the game and they maybe feel that they can go and get the result.

"The boys dug in well and created one or two chances even with just the ten men which was pleasing."

Alex acknowledged that life in the First Division is far from easy but feels that results will come Dunfermline's way:-

"I already know how hard the league is. You can see how tight it is, everybody is capable of beating everybody else - you can see that. It is a hard league both home and away. Every game is difficult but that's two games I have been here and even last week at Hamilton we created chances and the Manager has said there, the biggest worry will be when we stop creating.

"It is just a matter of getting a wee bit more clinical; if we get more clinical we will get results. The defence looked pretty solid today even with ten men when were pushing up later on. If we can keep defending well and creating the chances we are creating and start taking them, there is plenty there to work with."
